Cards for Bekah!!

Hello my friends!! I hope you are having a great day. Did you know that October is Spina Bifida Awareness Month?? Well, maybe you didn't, but now you do. Why am I asking you this? Well, my neighbor, who is a sweet and wonderful little girl, was born with this condition. Her name is Rebekah, she is 7 years old and a great kid. When Nicole (her mom) told me about Spina Bifida Awareness Month I asked her if she was planning to do something. Immediately, an idea came to my mind, why not send Bekah a lot of cards?? I hope you can help me to make her feel really special. I remember few weeks ago I was talking to Nicole and she was telling about Bekah's comments , she told her mom she would love to meet people like her.

Rebekah

Here is what Nicole says about Spina Bifida:

October is Spina Bifida Awareness month.
Rebekah is a bouncy, talkative, happy little girl who has never let anything stop her. What's so different about Bekah? She has Spina Bifida.

Spina Bifida is a neural tube defect that happens in the first month of pregnancy when the spinal column doesn't close completely.

The effects of Spina Bifida are different for every person. Up to 90 percent of children with the worst form of Spina Bifida have hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain) and must have surgery to insert a “shunt” that helps drain the fluid. The shunt stays in place for the lifetime of the person. Other conditions include full or partial paralysis, bladder and bowel control difficulties, learning disabilities, depression, latex allergy, and social issues.

Thanks to new medical treatments and technology, most people born with Spina Bifida can expect to live a normal life. People with Spina Bifida have many special challenges because of their birth defect, but their condition does not define who they are. People with Spina Bifida have careers, get married, and have children just like people who do not have Spina Bifida.

As a parent of a child with Spina Bifida I cannot put into words how blessed I feel that the Lord brought her into our lives. That He would feel me worthy to be the mother of one of his special children is humbling and I thank Him daily for the blessing he has bestowed me.

Thanks so much for your help!!

Hugs & Kisses

Hello my friends and Happy Saturday! Any plans for today? DD is so excited to go to Church tonight and enjoy the Harvest Party. Kids are welcome to dress up, but nothing mean and scary, so she will be a PRINCESS!! LOL. She's been thinking about this since she was told about the party about 3 weeks ago, and you know kids, when they want something so bad they can't stop talking about it, well DD is the perfect example :)

I just want to show you something sweet and nothing scary today. Isn't this image adorable?

Wishing you have a fabulous day!!

Hello my friends.

Hello my friends! I hope you are having a great day! I have to confess I haven't stamped in awhile. First I got a back injury, that didn't let me do much. I am grateful I am doing pretty good right now. Then, we got a new computer, DH installed all the programs and stuff, but my old picture program is gone, so I have to learn how to use the new program. (learning is a process)
and finally I got a job!! I am babisitting a little girl 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. So, now I am in the process to manage my time between taking care of the little girl and homeschooling my child.
So far, I have to say, today was a much better day than yesterday. This little girl is adorable!! Right now, she is teething, so sometimes she gets a little fuzzy, but other than that, I love my job!!
I will be changing my stamping time for night time instead of day time. Hope you come and visit me and check my new creations I will be posting soon.

In other news, thanks so much for all the "Cards for Bekah". She always opens her big bright blue eyes and always gives me a big smile. Isn't that wonderful?!

God bless you

Go for the goal!

Hello my friends! I hope you are having a great day. Yesterday, I made cards for our Soccer Team. I gave them to Nicole (coach) and she gave them to the kids. I made them in Blue and Pink, well the girl's cards are actually light purple. I cut the CS on Thursday night and I thought it was pink, LOL.
I used Melanie's set School, Sports, Spirit by Gina K. Designs. I colored the images with Prismacolor Pencils. I didn't have any soccer ball image, so I printed out some from the Internet.
Size card is 4" x4".

Here is a picture of the Soccer Team and my DD running :) Today was the end of soccer season. She had a lot of fun!

From Becca to Bekah

Hello my friends, I have a card for you, but this time made by my daughter!! She made a color combo that was really weird, LOL, so after a few minutes of talking about color combinations, she decided to use Crushed Curry (she calls it "yellow"), Real Red, Pure Luxury Good as Gold and the PP is from My Mind's Eye. She wanted brads and ribbon too, LOL.
She used M's Sketch Challenge + Inspiration. She got inspired by her good friend Bekah, because she is a star!!
BTW, she cut the star with my Cricut machine.

Here the pictures:

Just a note, she took her own pictures, it was very funny because she moved her card in different directions to get a good angle :) She made me smile today.

Don't forget you can still send Cards for Bekah. Today, I gave to her 4 more cards and she told me she likes all her cards and she will keep them!!

Have a great day!

Give Thanks.

Hello my friends. Hope you are having a great day. I have a Pumpkin card I made last few weeks ago and never posted here. I haven't stamped in a week {insert sad face}, I have injured my back, I lifted up very heavy weight ( just moving tools in the garage) I didn't think those tools were so heavy. So, I have done pretty much nothing, DH was a big helper as well as my DD. Today, I have stamped for a short time, just finishing some deadline projects and now I want to share this Pumpkin card with you.
I got the instructions and patterns from A year in Cards-September 2009 by Kristina Werner. I stamped the sentiment using SU In the Loop Alphabet (retired).

I hope you like it.
Have a great day!

Thanks so much to all of you who have sent Cards for Bekah. She loves all the cards!! I will post the Candy Prize picture tomorrow.
