A different kind of craft

Hello everyone! Today I am here with a cool post. I have to say the metallic tape is not only fantastic for your cool paper craft projects, but also works great on your nails! I don't do my nails very often cause I work with kids, but I decided to give the tape a chance to show on my nails and I love it!!

Here are few pictures of the process {wink, wink}

I started painting my nails navy blue, well the actual name is "I cast a spell on blue" by Jenna Hipp (I borrowed it from my daughter's collection)

Then, I cut stripes of 1/16" gold metallic tape and added them to my nails, I skipped the thumb, for a different look ;)

Trimmed all the excess from both sides and you have pretty nails! After that I added a coat of Top Coat for extra strength and durability.

Hope you like it and give it a try!
See ya next time

Being your friend is effortless

Hello friends!! Happy Monday to you all. Hope your weekend was amazing, I am finally feeling well enough to do my own things and eat a little more, YAY!! It's an amazing feeling, so last Saturday I cleaned up my garden boxes, they looked more like mini jungles, weeds were so tall I couldn't see my veggies, I am happy to tell you that all my veggies have been rescued and have more space to grow and breath, LOL. This is my first year growing cantaloupe and I have  a lot growing! So excited.

Anyway, I want to share a card I made using a set from Concord & 9th, I love this company and I have a lot of sets I haven't inked yet, what!!!
This card is super simple, I die-cut the birds  from "By your side Bird die" using watercolor paper, saved the edges white and colored the birds with Spectrum Noir Aqua markers. For the background, I used Distress Inks on a piece of watercolor paper and splash some water for a soft look (hopefully you can see it on the pictures), then stamped the sentiment from "By your side" set in Brown StazOn ink, adhered the birds folding the wings a little bit, then added the white edges. Finally, added little bits of green and blue Spectrum Noir Sparkle and sequins!

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day!

Exciting news to share and a little tutorial!

Hello friends! Today, I have exciting news to share, I am part of a new team in the craft world! Yes, I am part of the Rainbow Tape Design Team! You should go and check out the metallic and masking tapes, the team will be sharing ideas this week and also giving away some tape love!!

So today, I have a super cute and easy Christmas card. I used 1/8"Metallic Red Tape and 1/4" White Masking Tape

1.- I started with a 3.75" x 5" piece of watercolor paper, masked all the edges with 1/4 White Masking Tape and also added it to the center part to create a little hill.

2.- I painted the watercolor paper with Kuretake Gansai Watercolors, just added blue and yellow and blended the colors until I was happy with it.

3.- I stamped the trees from O Christmas tree set from Concord & 9th in 3 different colors of Distress Inks: Forest Moss, Pine needle and Peeled paint.

4.-  After I finished with all the stamping, I removed the Masking Tape, and with a wet paint brush I moved a little bit of the green onto the ground. Then, I added the 1/8" Metallic Red Tape around the image to create a cool frame. The red tape really pops, love it!

And this is how the card looks like , I adhered the watercolor panel to a A2 White card base and added little drops of White Liquid Pearl to create  snow look.

Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win.
Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day!

Spectrum Noir Colorista coming to HSN + a winner!

Hello friends! I am back and today I want to introduce you (if you haven't heard about it yet) to the new Spectrum Noir Colorista line, that includes 6 different Coloring books, pencil, markers, cards!! You can check out the collection HERE (the giveaway over there is already closed), during my recovery days (well still recovering) I did a little bit of coloring. I colored a page from one of the big coloring books, I used my Colorista markers and voila!!

After coloring the page, I decided to use it and make cards and they turned out beautiful!

Let me show you the cards I made:

Card 1: For this card, I just added a stripe of black shimmering cardstock and gold tape, adhered it to a white card base. The sentiment was stamped on a black shimmering cardstock in Versamark Watermark and heat embossed with white embosing powder.

Card 2:  The coloring panel was put on top of a yellow pearl shimmering cardstock, about 1/4" bigger on each side, sentiment was stamped  on a piece of  black shimmering cardstock in Versamark Watermark and heat embossed with white embosing powder. Added a piece of vellum and some shiny dew drops.

Card 3: For this card, I cut the panel in 3, adhered the top and bottom on top of the vellum piece and the middle piece was put behind the vellum, this way the "Celebrate" die-cut in black shimmering cardstock will show much better. (well at least I think it does), added a coastal shimmering cardstock behind the panel and a bow.

Card #4: This card is the simplest of the whole group. Just a white cardstock base, the coloring panel and the sentiment.

Last, but not least, the giveaway winner!! I used random.org and it selected #8

OMGosh you poor thing, I hope you are feeling better soon. Gallstones and surgery are enough to wipe you out for a while. After surgery, it is usually the gas they inflate that really takes a while to get out of your system. Try to walk around a little several times a day. Get well soon.
Holly, please email me at giovanachavez @ msn. com with your information so I can mail your prize.

Thanks so much for your kind words, I am still in recovery mode, not much has changed since last time, tomorrow I have an appointment, hopefully I will get some answers about this.

Hope you like my cards!
Have a fantastic day/night.

Where have I been? and a Giveaway!!

Hello everyone!
I feel like I have been blogging in a very long time, most of my  posts were pre-scheduled so I have not been here for a long time.
Well, as you can tell lately I have not been posting much and in few posts I wrote I was having some health issues, well, yes  I had to stop everything and take care of myself.
So, in the last few months I've been suffering with back problems and tummy aches, never connected them until July 22nd when my husband took me to the ER because I thought I was dying, I was in so much pain, pain I can not describe.
After a lot of tests and strong pain killers I was diagnosed with "gallbladder stones", after that I was in a very strict diet and finally had surgery on August 4th. It's taking a lot longer to recover, I was hoping for a super quick recovery like my previous surgeries, but not, this one is quite different and today I can finally stand straight, and walk more "normally".

So, I have been coloring a little bit, not doing much, or better say, doing nothing (I get bored really fast) and I hope next week I can start showing you some of the projects I am trying to "make" this week and be back into my healthy being.

So, if you read all this, THANK YOU!! I really appreciate your visits and I comments. I have this extra set that I will giveaway to any you, I may add few more things  Just leave a comment and I will announce the winner next week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!!
