About Me

Hi, welcome to my blog!  My name is Giovana (spelled with 1 "n" only and sounds like yio-vanah). I was born in Lima, Peru, but raised in the main port "Callao". The beach was always close to me and loved it. I met my husband in 2001 and we married in 2002, after that I moved to the USA and started my life here. It was not easy to say the least, the language, food, activities, everything was so different, I have to confess I cried for months, but now here I am, very used to America. I have learned so many things here, although I studied English in Peru and I thought I knew pretty much everything (LOL), here was another story. Pretty much understood 0% because everybody was talking way to fast!! answering the phone was a torture and keeping a conversation was a big frustration. I have to say after you realized you HAVE to do things, everything started getting a lot smoother. I can tell now I speak "good" English, I have a heavy accent (although my daughter doesn't think so :) and I love to answer the phone, LOL. I am more open to have a conversation and sometimes I think I talk too much. I love America very much (but not the fast food though)

I am Christian, I grew up in a Christian family and I am raising my daughter the same way. I am not ashamed to say I love the Lord with all my heart.

I am a wife and a mom and these 2 wonderful people are the most important people in my life. I will do everything and anything for them. Very proud of them.

I have been crafty all my life. when I was little I used to pick the little pieces of fabric my mom was tossing so I made dresses for my dolls. I used to have a huge collection of dresses. Then I learned how to knit, sew (for real) and cross-stitch. This last one was the hobby I did until my daughter was born. After she starting walking, it was really hard, almost impossible to create so then I discovered Paper Crafting!!!
I've been paper crafting for about 6 years now, if you just knew my first material, you probably laugh out loud.
I have been very blessed to be part of some fantastic Design Team. In some cases I applied for, in others I have been invited. I have been published in different Craft Magazines, which is super cool!!! (Since English is not my first language I always thought I would never be published, I was really wrong)

I hope you like my blog, the music here is part of my testimony as a Christian, so I hope it doesn't bother you.

Just in case, I read all the comments posted here, and I love to reply e-mails, you can leave me you e-mail address so you will hear from me :)

Thanks for reading this. I think I got inspired to write all this.

Have a great day and God Bless.
Giovana

  5. Your story is very interesting I for one am glad to have you as an American. Your paper crafting is lovely and I have been inspired because I am a great-grandmother and I have just started card making, but have done a lot of other crats and sewing.

  6. Hi Giovana
I receive your daily projects via email, so I never miss one of your beautiful cards! Now I have found your blog site, I will also follow this way. Your creativity is an inspiration to me, as I love to create, but don't feel particularly 'artistic'. I have been card-making for a year now, and have also started a blog, as a way to document my own steep learning curve. You are a wonderful guide! Best wishes - and I am glad to hear you are feeling better.

  7. Giovana, I love your work and am very proud of you for your witness. What a blessing it is to see people who love paper crafting as I do who also love Christ. May He continue to bless you immeasurably.

  9. A few years ago I found your work on another stamp site, so it's good to know you are still creating, and happy I found you again. Thanks too, for your testimony of your love for God. Looking forward to more creativity from you!

  10. Wonderful! I love God with all my heart also. I'm so glad I found you. I have a question for you and perhaps people you know. There used to be a site that I followed that was a lot like Splitcoaststampers but Christian. It had a gallery, tutorials, forum. It was great. About 10 years ago I started taking care of my Father-in-law and I also had health issues that have only got worse with time. I would like to know if anyone remembers it? thanks ;)
